- Hodges Walsh Slater LLP was recently elected to Associate Membership by the Board of Directors of Lawyers for Civil Justice (www.lfcj.com). Membership in LCJ is limited to 65 law firms in the United States. LCJ is a national coalition of defense trial lawyers and corporations seeking to accomplish civil justice reform at both the state and national level while ensuring balance in the civil justice system.
- Leicia Grant has returned to the office after a six month leave of absence during which she was commissioned as a Captain with the Judge Advocate General’s Corp. While continuing her fine efforts on behalf of the firm, Leicia will also serve in the United States Army Reserve.
- Sanford G. Jacobs has joined our office as an associate attorney and is actively involved in the defense of general negligence claims. Sanford was previously with the Nyack, New York law firm of McCartney, McCartney & Kerrigan.
- Our Third-Annual Golf Outing was conducted at the Mansion Ridge Golf Club in Monroe, New York on May 27, 2009. More than 40 golfers participated and approximately 60 friends of the office took part in the dinner that followed. Next year’s outing will be held on May 29 at the same location.
- George S. Hodges recently served as Chairperson of the Nominating Committee at the Annual Meeting of the International Association of Defense Counsel at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado. George served as President of the IADC in 2004-2005.
- Amanda Hedrick, a second year student at the University of Virginia School of Law, recently completed her service as a summer intern with the office. Amanda, a graduate of NYU with a B.A. in politics, was a significant and welcome asset to the office and we wish her well in the upcoming school year.
